I think you’re spot on. I initially went into how reducing components would reduce cost and shorten the list of suppliers… but I had to reduce the length of my post, so it got the chop.

I don’t think the screen size was only about the driverless experience, cost for sure played a big part, but I think that the way the UI was laid out on that chosen screen gives a key. They could have gone with an even more common 16:9 configuration, my guess is that the 16:10 gave them more room to add persistent controls while still striking that cost-effective balance.
